Note: This is NOT THE REGISTRATION PAGE. IT IS ONLY TO HELP PEOPLE UNDERSTAND OUR SYSTEM. When registration opens, look for a bright green "click here to register" banner on our home page.

This little page is set up to show you our online registration form. It includes screen shots of the process from beginning to end, including paying via paypal with a credit card.

Registration to get into our printed map officially closes on June 14th. After that date, we cannot guarentee you will be in the printed map, since it goes to design and press to get it out in time for attracting people to the event.

However, don't let that stop you from registering. You will still be listed in our online directory and can get a banner to fly outside your studio during the event. Many of people don't bother with the printed map, preferring to wander from studio to studio or find you on their smart phone!

There are a lot of pictures, so be patient while it loads.

Step 1: User login and password. Choose a user name you will remember and a secure password for yourself.

Also, read the terms and conditions and click the check box, if you agree to them.

Click continue.

Remember, this is not the actual registration form. For that you need to go back to our home page and look for the banner link.

Step 2: Fill in your contact information. Most of this information is just for us in case we need to contact you.

Don't forget the Artist Name or Studio. This can just be your name

Step 3:Grant Information.

This information is optional. However, it is very important to us when we apply for grants to help support the Jamaica Plain Open Studios and other JP Arts Council programs.

So, please help us to raise money by filling in the info.

Step 4: Site Registration

If you are an individual artist, showing in your own studio, front porch, or are in another private space, such as the Loring Greenough House, Footlight Club or other "Hosted Artist" situation, click continue.

But if you are showing in a group site...

Step 4: Group Site Registration.

READ THE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY!

You do not have the space reserved until you hit continue.

And then you have 10 minutes to complete the registration process, which only has 3 more steps.

If you are going for the group sites, notice that there is the site name, wall, table or tent and then a number.

The number is the number of spaces still available at that site.

If you need wall space to display your art work, click on the wall choice for your spot. If you are showing outside at that location, click on tent. If you need table space, choose table. For those of you who need a combination of wall and table, choose wall.

NOTE: If none of the group site spaces are clickable, this means that they are already filled and we cannot put more artists in those spaces. But you can still register as an individual artist (we cannot guarentee a site, it is your responsibility to do the leg work).

Here are some options if you need a site to show.

• If you have a space in JP, consider using it for the weekend. Lots of artists show in their living rooms.
• Check with your local businesses as many are willing to host an artist for the weekend.
• Post a note on our JPOS Facebook page, looking for a space for the weekend.
• Network in with the local artists by checking out the Jamaica Plain Arts Association meetings, your local friends or check into who is showing where in our online directory.

Step 5: The Artist Agreement Form.

Depending on whether you are in a group site or in an individual site, you are agreeing to abide by some simple rules that are set up to help the event run more smoothly for everyone.

Please read these before clicking the agree button.

Step 6: The web site directory.

Some artists like to provide people with more samples of their work in our directory.

They tend to get more interest as a result. It can be a valuable marketing tool for you.

Step 7: The Confirmation Step.

Check your info carefully.

You still have plenty of time!

If it is okay, click check out and it will take you to Paypal where you can pay by credit card or paypal account.

We use paypal to handle our online transactions.

It is simple to pay with a credit card or sign in with your paypal information, if you have an account.

For credit card payments, look for the Continue by the credit card graphics.

This is your proof of payment. You will also receive an email from paypal that is also your proof of payment.

Another email will come from us with your registration info on it.

Don't forget: You are not yet listed in the online Artist Directory!

You must login and update your artist description and upload a small sample image of your work to be listed in the Online Artist Directory.

Getting in the Online Artist Directory

Login with your username and password.

Under the JPOS Artist menu, click on Edit Artist Listing and Studio Information

Type in a short description of your work that will help people understand what they will see during Open Studios.

Then click Update Info at the bottom of the page.

Lower on the edit studio page is the Directory Image.

Prep a sample image of your artwork as a jpeg that is 100 pixels by 100 pixels.

Click browse and find it on your computer.

Click Open.

Click Update Info.
