Project Overview

The PaintBox program, organized by the Boston Art Commission, is geared towards the recognition and
celebration of local artists. Through PaintBox, artists are asked to paint City of Boston utility boxes with
original designs. Once professionally painted, these utility boxes in neighborhood business districts will
contribute to the vitality and attractiveness of the urban streetscape and deter graffiti.

MFA Call for Entries

Picture 2.jpgThe Museum Council of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston is seeking qualified artists, or their representatives, to submit work to a juried silent art auction being held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 at the Museum Council’s 7th annual black tie fundraising event – the Summer pARTy. Proceeds of the sale of the work will be split between the MFA and the applicant. The Summer Party raises funds to benefit the Museum Council Artist in Residency Program. All submissions are due by April 5, 2010. All media are eligible and will be considered. Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of MFA curatorial staff and select Museum Council members. Works by emerging, mid-career, and established artists are encouraged, including secondary market works. Thank you for your support!

and Be Counted, to better determine how many artists of all disciplines are
living and working in Massachusetts. We are using a broad and inclusive

musicians, composers, writers, poets, playwrights, new media artists, film
makers, crafts people, actors, singers, performance artists, graphic designers,
lighting designers, dancers, choreographers, and the like.

The CLA Gallery is calling for portfolio submissions for solo and group shows (A Maximum of 3 artists for a group show). Participating artists will be selected by the CLA Staff, with one or more artists being awarded a solo exhibition. Artists working in painting, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, photography, digital media, textiles, mixed media, and installation are eligible. Video work cannot be accommodated at this time. 8 to 10 6-week shows will be awarded to qualified and relevant works that are closely aligned with our mission and goals. Exhibition awards will be scheduled between: September 2008 through August 2010.
