New Line to be Introduced at the National Stationery Show in New York City, May 18-21, 2008

Roslindale, MA — Hearts Happenâ„¢ is set to debut its new line of note cards, magnets, small prints and games that feature a range of unique heart images at the upcoming National Stationery Show. After a series of well-received exhibitions in the Boston area, Hearts Happen is introducing the wholesale line to buyers from across the country at the show which runs May 18 through 21, 2008 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City.

Created by photographer Kristin Mallery, Hearts Happen is a series of images of naturally occurring heart shapes. Mallery founded Hearts Happen in 2005, several years after she began discovering and capturing these found hearts and has since collected over 250 unique images. Hearts Happen is now collaborating with Inkstone Printing in Brockton, MA who will print the final product with vegetable-based inks on recycled paper.

“Hearts Happen discovers optimism and beauty in natural settings. The photographs represent that there is love and beauty to be found naturally, anywhere you look,” according to Mallery. Her original photographs were a creative exercise for her own self-expression and enjoyment. She found that her natural ability to find hearts in the natural environment quickly blossomed into a large body of work that seemed to touch the imagination of people. “I had no idea this would become such a popular series,” Mallery explained. After a string of local exhibitions, the heart images attracted the attention of WBUR, Boston’s NPR news station. “Having the story on the radio expanded Hearts Happen’s reach to an international level. People send me heart images that they have found from all over the world. I call them ‘fellow heartists’. This really feels like a movement,” Mallery said. You can hear the story at www.HeartsHappen.com.
