Our very own Matt McKee (yeah, me. Gotta luv me!), is on the hook for two courses, as you can see above.
A little more about the courses, if you please:
Photographing your Art for the Web (And other purposes) is primarily aimed at getting 2D art such as paintings, drawings, fabric and other works, documented for use in fine art prints, postcards, email blasts and on your favorite web site. We will touch on a bit on 3d art such as sculpture as well. The course will cover the basics of the set up, and how to get consistent results.
But, if you make jewelry or related small, functional sculptures, check out:
Photographing Jewelry for the Web. The inter-web-net-thingie has changed the way artists get their work out, making it possible for some to sell internationally and giving others the opportunity to do it full time! But, it ain’t the same thing as dealing with someone at a show.
Sometimes the picture you put up of your work is the only thing they will be making a decision on.
In this class, I plan on talking about how to make dynamic, interesting photographs of jewelry pieces, that can be used to help you sell more work! We will touch on some lighting tricks and tools and discuss the creative thought process that goes into making a good jewelry photograph.
Go to the Eliot School online registration and get in these classes before they are gone!
(IMHO: If you really want to succeed in the fine art world, marketing is a must. Sign up for Eliot School’s entire series of Marketing for Artists right now and take control of your arts career!)
